John "Jay" Hemphill

Jay Hemphill is a 2001 graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Mr. Hemphill is a cum laude graduate of the LL.M. in Taxation program from the University of Alabama School of Law. Mr. Hemphill’s legal career spans both private practice and public service. Mr. Hemphill practiced with a full service business and litigation law firm for four years in Raleigh. Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Hemphill served as a Captain in the United States Air Force’s JAG Corps at Edwards Air Force Base in California and at Pope Air Force Base on Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Mr. Hemphill enjoys studying American History, being outside in his native North Carolina and distance running. Jay is married to the former Melinda Seamans and is the proud father of three sons.
