Carlon Ocel is a 2009 graduate of Duke University and a 2012 graduate of the University of Richmond School of Law, where she completed the Family Law Certificate with a focus on estate planning and was a Manuscripts Editor for the Journal of Law and the Public Interest. Carlon’s career began in the public interest sector in Northern Virginia and continued at another boutique estate planning firm in Durham before she joined Hemphill Gelder. Her experience includes not only estate planning in general but also the more specific areas of special needs planning, elder law, and public benefits.
Carlon lives in Apex with her husband Rob, their energetic son, and their cranky orange cat. In her spare time, she enjoys needlepointing, reading, antiquing, following Duke Basketball, and being a Sustainer Member of the Junior League of Durham and Orange Counties.
